As spring
is not quite "in the air" the birds are still busy feeding at the peanut
feeder in the garden and the red squirrel is also looking for food at the
bird table. My other selections this month show Fort Augustus and the
Caledonian Canal at Kytera Lock as well as an ancient Caledonian pine and
the Plodda falls, near Glen Affric.
This is the selection from our March photo gallery.
As we are promoting the
wonderful wild primroses which will be everywhere soon, I thought I would
continue with a flower theme for this months photo gallery and show you the
range of wild flowers which can be seen at this time of year.

We have
enjoyed the most fabulous start to October with wonderful still and sunny
days highlighting the beautiful colours of Autumn. All these photographs
were taken at Inverfarigaig and show the breathtaking scenery of Loch Ness
on a completely still day with perfect reflections on the Loch.

The heather is now in full bloom across the hillsides, the
bracken is turning to wonderful shades of golden brown, the hawthorn
berries are a beautiful deep blue and the brambles are changing from red
to shiny black - all signs that autumn is almost here
This
is the selection from our August photo gallery. This
month I have followed one of the waymarked trails in Farigaig Forest
which you can access from Evergreen. There are a great variety of paths,
some narrow and some wide enough for a vehicle - all of which are easy to
follow. This particular route takes about an hour and a quarter.

This
Great Spotted Woodpecker has become a regular visitor to our garden over the
last couple of weeks.
The summer flowers are everywhere
at the moment - both on the water and on the land! Bog Cotton covers the
moorland area close to Suidhe Chuimen viewpoint and the water lilies are
beautiful on Loch Bran and Lochan Tor an Tuill. Loch Bran was studied by
children from the local primary school at Foyers over a 3 year period and
the display boards give visitors information on what you can see
throughout the seasons.
